YOUR VISIT

A first appointment,
step by step.

Nothing about a beauty appointment should be improvised. This is the shape a well-run visit takes — what happens, what you can ask, and what to expect afterwards.

01THE ARC OF AN APPOINTMENT

Six moments that matter.

Timings vary by service and by salon. The sequence does not — and any step being skipped is worth noticing.

01Before booking

The enquiry

You describe what you want in plain language: an occasion, a concern, a date you cannot move. A good reply tells you what is possible, what is not, and what the salon still needs to know.

  • Write to info@zy.salon — email is the only channel the salon has published.
  • Ask which service the salon would suggest, and why.
  • Confirm the total price and the expected length before committing.
  • If you are unsure, ask whether a consultation alone is possible.
02On arrival

The consultation

This is the part people try to skip, and the part that decides everything else. It should cover your skin or colour history, sensitivity, medication, recent treatments, time and budget.

  • Mention anything new: a pregnancy, a new prescription, a holiday with a lot of sun.
  • Say what you do not want, not only what you do.
  • It is completely reasonable to ask for a moment to think.
03Before the service

The patch test

Where tinting, colour or a new active product is involved, a patch test is a normal safety step, not an inconvenience. It usually needs to happen a day or two ahead.

  • Ask whether a test is recommended for the specific product.
  • Do not skip it because the appointment is tomorrow — reschedule instead.
  • Tell the salon about any reaction, however mild.
04During

The plan, agreed out loud

Service, price, duration and aftercare stated before the first product is opened. If something changes halfway — more time, an extra product — you should hear about it before it happens.

  • Ask what is being applied and what it does.
  • Say if something stings, feels too warm, or is not what you expected.
  • Ask what would happen if you stopped here.
05At the end

What to do next

Aftercare is part of the service, not an add-on. Ask for it in writing if it involves timing — how long to wait before washing, exercising, swimming or applying anything active.

  • Ask what a normal reaction looks like, and what is not normal.
  • Ask when the result should be reviewed, if it is a staged service.
  • Ask how to reach the salon if something changes.
06Next 48 hours

Aftercare

Most of the result is decided after you leave. Keep the routine simple: gentle cleansing, no new actives, no unnecessary heat, and sun protection where skin has been worked on.

  • Do not introduce a new product in the same week as a treatment.
  • Photograph the area in daylight if you want to compare it later.
  • Contact the salon early if something worries you, rather than waiting.

02BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Come prepared,
not perfect.

Worth bringing

  • Any product you currently use, or a photo of the label
  • References — screenshots are more useful than adjectives
  • A rough budget, said out loud
  • Your diary, if a follow-up is likely
  • Questions written down; they are easy to forget in the chair

Worth mentioning

  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding or trying to conceive
  • Prescription skincare, retinoids or recent acids
  • Recent waxing, laser, peels or sun exposure
  • Allergies, eczema, psoriasis or a healing breakout
  • An event within the next two weeks

This is general guidance for preparing for a beauty appointment. It is not medical advice. If you have a skin condition or a concern about a product, speak to a qualified professional.

03FIRST-TIME QUESTIONS

Asked most
often.

Do I need to book a consultation separately?

Often a consultation is built into the appointment, but not always — and for a first visit or a significant change it can be worth asking for one on its own. ZY SALON SUPPLY has not yet confirmed how consultations are handled.

How early should I arrive?

Ask when you book. Arriving a few minutes early is normal; arriving late can shorten a service that cannot be extended. If you are running late, call — do not simply turn up.

Can I bring someone with me?

Ask in advance. Space, privacy and the needs of other clients vary, and the answer is not automatically yes.

What if I do not like the result?

Say so before you leave, while it can still be adjusted. Ask what the salon's policy is on corrections, and keep the aftercare instructions you were given.

How do I prepare for a makeup appointment?

Arrive with clean, moisturised skin unless the salon tells you otherwise, bring references, and describe the light and duration of your event. Ask whether lashes, hair or touch-up products are included.

PLAN AHEAD

Write it down
before you call.

The inquiry planner keeps your date, service direction and questions in one place, so the first conversation takes five minutes instead of twenty.
